The little Pyrenean girl in the big league

Peyragudes

Quality skiing on immaculate pistes, modern facilities, a wide range of activities, a beautiful setting, charming villages, voluptuous baths… In just a few years, and with a great deal of effort, the resort of Peyragudes and the Louron valley have become one of the hippest destinations in the Pyrenees, with no frills or excess.

Domain

The ski area

A particularly efficient ski area: no interminable links but ultra-fast rotations with detachable chairlifts throughout the resort, easily accessible runs and an area open on two sides. With plenty of sunshine, the resort also boasts beautiful scenery.

The village

Loudenvielle

The Skyvall cable car links the resort to the village of Loudenvielle. It takes just ten minutes to get to the slopes or to rediscover the charm and harmony of this small mountain village on the edge of a lake in the Louron valley. With its typically Pyrenean architecture, Loudenvielle offers a wide range of accommodation options, including a superb 4-star hotel, without sacrificing any of its identity or friendliness. Locals and tourists alike can be found at “Chez Rogé”, a 100-year-old local bistro where Claire, the owner, improvises Pyrenean songs for all to enjoy.

BALNÉA

Spa Centre

In Loudenvielle, you can relax and recharge your batteries at Balnéa. Nestling on the edge of the lake, in the heart of nature and surrounded by peaks, it’s by far one of the best spots in the Pyrenees! Its vast open-air lagoons with water at between 33 and 40°C and panoramic views of the valley’s peaks, including the famous Pic du Hourgade, have been the talk of the town since they opened.

Peyragudes & Val Louron

2 ski resorts, 1 valley

The Louron valley, a chic, unspoilt enclave
Discreet but not oblivious, calm but not sleepy, conservative but not backward-looking, innovative but respectful of its surroundings, the Louron valley has a little “chic and unspoilt enclave” about it in the Pyrenees. The natural setting is magnificent and harmonious. The lake sparkles against a backdrop of majestic peaks. The well-tended villages dot the soulanes. Each hides astonishing Romanesque chapels, precious treasures with splendid murals painted to thank God for the fruitful trade in leather and wool between this French valley and its Spanish neighbour. Spain is just around the corner, and some visitors can take advantage of this by going shopping or skiing on the slopes of Baqueira Beret, in the Val d’Aran, just three quarters of an hour from Peyragudes.
