ARGELÈS-GAZOST

Le Jardin des Bains

Located in the spa park, the “Le Jardin des Bains” balneotherapy centre draws its inspiration from the art of living of ancient civilisations, offering a haven of relaxation that celebrates plants, minerals and the majestic aquatic landscape. Discover the different areas and experiences: the Turkish and musical baths, the jacuzzi surrounded by lavender and olive trees for a sensory journey, or the range of treatments, all in a rejuvenating and therapeutic atmosphere in the heart of the Pyrenees.

The spa is set in a park of rare trees in the heart of the small town of Argelès-Gazost. It was built in the eclectic Beaux-Arts style typical of the 1880-1890s. The left wing houses the spa. The right wing, to the south, was rebuilt identically in 2010 to house the Balneo centre dedicated to well-being, relaxation and fitness.

The different baths

to discover

The Emerald Forest

Through the “Gate of the Sun”, you enter the Emerald Forest. Light, lush vegetation, Inca sculptures and blocks of fossilised natural stone plunge visitors into the world of the primeval forest.

A zinc dome overlooks the pool, which features goosenecks, massage jets, a bench and bubble bath, counter-current swimming, a jacuzzi and a waterfall, all in water at 34°.

The architecture plays with transparency and interaction between indoor and outdoor spaces. The glass roof opens onto a wooden terrace where you can sunbathe in a bucolic setting with a view of the Hautacam peaks.

The Ziggurat

This more intimate pavilion is closed to the outside world. It is inspired by Mesopotamian art and takes the form of a pyramid. A pleasant half-light highlights a hand-painted Babylonian fresco.

Beneath the hanging garden, vaulted spaces, harmoniously arranged in a cloverleaf pattern around a cold well, house a hammam, a Turkish bath, a musical bath and a scented bath with essential oils.

All are guarded by 8 mysterious winged bulls, identical to those in the Louvre.

The outdoor jacuzzi

The vegetation-lined walking path leads to an open-air jacuzzi surrounded by lavender and olive trees, where you can continue your moment of relaxation in a new setting and an invigorating atmosphere.

Fitness area

The different treatments

for body and mind

The institute

In a cosy atmosphere bathed in subdued light, and delicately decorated with flowers and mosaic murals, five treatment rooms, one of which is for couples, offer a varied menu of treatments and well-being massages.

The appointment begins with the selection of the product of your choice: the Omnisens range inspired by the garden, or the La Sultane de Saba range inspired by flowers and spices from faraway lands.

Our favourites

The babyspa

Every Wednesday morning, children aged between 6 months and 3 years can enjoy a “BabySpa” session, with the pool entirely reserved for them. The aim is to develop their awareness and discovery of the water. Through various motor activities, babies can develop their skills and become more independent in the water. The activity is supervised by a qualified lifeguard.
