Les Bains du Rocher

Discover the Les Bains du Rocher spa centre, nestling in the Pyrenees National Park in the charming spa town of Cauterets. The indoor and outdoor pools, the treatments offered at the Institute and the fitness area will win you over and make your getaway an unforgettable experience.

George Sand, Alfred de Vigny, Alexis de Tocqueville, Chateaubriand, Flaubert, Victor Hugo – the literary gotha have all stayed in Cauterets, to take advantage of the hot springs that flow freely here, but also to venture into the heart of the mountains, in fabulous natural surroundings.

From this splendid era, Cauterets has preserved some of the most refined and original architecture in the Pyrenees, as seen in the spa centre. The high ceilings adorned with pampille chandeliers and the beautiful mouldings recall the elegance of the private salons of the Belle Epoque revisited with a modern touch. The jade pebble floor and calade walls – round, sand-coloured stones – imbue the place with a refined cachet.

The different areas

A moment for you

The relaxation area

Withbubble beds, goosenecks and jacuzzis, the indoor pool is bursting with games. A large glass roof and translucent dome flood the space with natural light. It enhances the wood and noble materials that combine in harmony.

The naturally warm Cauterets thermal spring water sparkles with benefits and envelops you in a gentle 34°. On the side of the rock, the outdoor lagoon combines with nature for a moment of pure relaxation. In summer or winter, the thermal water moves between volutes of steam and clear blue water at the heart of geysers, counter-current swimming, jacuzzis and massaging jets. There’s also a steam room, a sauna and a relaxation room adorned with salt stone. Here, to the sound of gentle music, body and mind are set free and stress is relieved.

The Institute & treatments

The walls of a cosy salon are adorned with jade and calades, the stones of choice. The refined atmosphere invites you to indulge your senses.

In a dozen cabins, including one for two, a caring team offers a wide range of treatments: hydromassage on a water bed, mineral modellingwith hot stones, relaxation or Indian modelling, foot reflexology, anti-stress, slimming, anti-ageingtreatments, specific treatments for men or mothers-to-be…

No one is forgotten, even the youngest have their own treatment: a “Pitchoun” massage for 7-11 year-olds and a “teenagers” massage for 12-14 year-olds. The Institute also offers 3, 4 or 5-day packages with a daily programme of (non-therapeutic) treatments for conditions such as stress or muscular pain.

Fitness area

To let off steam and tone your body, the Bains du Rocher offer a fitness area all year round.

Activities can be aquatic, with aquagym or aquabike sessions, which combine relaxation, the pleasures of water, the benefits of sport in thermal water, muscular and cardio-respiratory work, work on the figure… All classes are taught to music by qualified trainers.

The centre also offers more traditional activities in the fitness area, equipped with top-of-the-range body-building and cardio-training equipment.
