You arrive in your mountain village, renowned for its thermal baths , the oldest still in operation and the highest in France. Bars and restaurants liven up the main street when the slopes close.
Today’s programme: 600 metres of ascent. Starting in the Ayré forest, you put on your snowshoes for the first stage towards your evening hut. Following in your mountain leader’s footsteps, you’ll make your way slowly, without too much difficulty, to the mineral valley of La Glère. Béatrice, the hut keeper, will be waiting for you to enjoy a comforting supper by the stove.

An early breakfast and off we go for the long-awaited expedition. The first few metres run alongside a multitude of frozen lakes and through a rocky world. At the top of the Turon du Néouvielle, the panorama stretches to all the 3000 border peaks. And you can tick the box for your first 3000.
The descent is long and sporty, requiring special attention. A total of 1,500 metres of downhill await you, after an initial break at the refuge to collect your belongings and then a return to the car.
