Your mountain guide will take you from piste skier to ski tourer, teaching you the techniques you need to tackle the winter mountains with maximum pleasure and in complete safety.
On the fantastic slopes, you’ll perfect your skiing skills on ungroomed snow…
Then you’ll master the techniques of climbing with skis and crampons, practise ski touring in complete safety and learn to deal with the risks of the winter mountains with complete confidence.
Lourdes – Luz-Ardiden
A warm welcome awaits you in Lourdes, where you can hire ski touring equipment for the week.
Then transfer to your accommodation in Luz-Saint-Sauveur, at the foot of the mountains.

Warm-up and technical refresher: downhill techniques on pistes and then on virgin snow off-piste.
Reminder of the correct positions and habits: different types of turns, perfecting movements, etc.

Ski touring

Continuation of downhill techniques followed by learning how to climb with sealskins, conversions, choice of ascent route, etc.
Learn about snow and avalanches and use of safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, etc.).
Ski touring in this beautiful valley.
Difference in altitude: +/-400 m – Walking time: 2 to 3 hours – Transfer time: 45 min.
Off-piste in the Lienz forest or under La Piquette, then on to La Mongie and Les Quatre Termes.
A little effort on foot to cross the Pas de la Crabe and a magnificent off-piste descent into the Néouvielle massif via the Aygues-Cluses valley and its pine groves.
From Aygues-Cluses, ski back up to the Col de Madamète, with its splendid views.
Walking time: 2 to 3 hours’ ascent on skis, plus time for descent – Ascent: +/- 400 m.

Hautacam resort

Beautiful snowfields from Hautacam resort leading to the summit of the Pic de Barran (1982 m.) and its superb panoramas. Despite the rather modest altitude, the snowy, high-mountain atmosphere is superb.
Practice ice axe and crampon techniques. Fun descents in these vast expanses.
Walking time: 3h ascent on skis, plus time for descent – Difference in altitude: +/- 400 m – Transfer time: 1h.
A day devoted to ski touring, with an easy ascent of the Pic de Lary and its remarkable panorama of the Cirque de Gavarnie.
Depending on the snow conditions and the level of the group, you can do the outing either as an out-and-back (the easiest option) or as a loop (a slightly more challenging option).
Walking time: 2 to 4 hours’ ascent on skis, depending on the route, plus descent time – Difference in altitude: + 500 to 800 m / – 500 to 800 m – Transfer time: 1h15.
Gavarnie Cirque Snow Winter Hpte
Transfer to Lourdes and end of stay in the morning.
