Day of arrival

Night-time visit to Lourdes

Arrival at Lourdes & 11pm Mass at the Grotto.
Few places of worship are open at night. At Lourdes, the Sanctuary grounds are open 7 days a week from 6am to midnight and a mass is celebrated every evening at 11pm at the Grotto. This is an ideal time to get to know Lourdes, because the magic of this place is even more apparent at night.

Day 1

Walk to the Pont d’Espagne, Spa & Torchlight Procession

A gentle, harmonious and energising day. After frolicking in the Garden of Eden in the Pyrenees, you’ll be treated to a relaxing break in the naturally warm and soothing waters of the Bains du Rocher in Cauterets, before joining the joyous and magical torchlit procession to Lourdes.

Day 2

The Cirques & Gourmet dinner at Le Viscos.

A more intense day. The encounter with the spectacular Cirques de Gavarnie and Troumouse stirs the soul.

After spoiling your eyes, it’s time to treat your taste buds. Head for Le Viscos, in Saint-Savin, home of Jean-Pierre and Alexis Saint-Martin. This is a real local institution, hidden away in a charming village perched on a rocky outcrop. Before sitting down to dinner, take a short, charming stroll from the square in Saint-Savin to the Notre-Dame-de-Piétat chapel, set on its promontory overlooking the valley. Enjoy the view from the terrace in the shade of the lime trees.

Day 3

The Grande Route des Cols, the Pic du Midi & Aquensis

Today’s itinerary takes in the Grande Route des Cols des Pyrénées to cross the Tourmalet and theAspin. Two stops along the way will allow you to climb to the summit of the Pic du Midi for an exceptional panoramic view, then recharge your batteries in the hot springs at Aquensis.

Day 4

Visit to the Sanctuary of Lourdes & departure.

Visitors are free to wander the grounds of the Sanctuary, with no set itinerary or timing. We suggest that you visit the basilicas and then go through the arcades to get water from the fountains, go to the Grotto, touch the rock and light a candle. Those who wish to do so can come in the morning and attend the international mass* at 9.30 am in the Souterraine basilica. Lourdes is famous for its international mass, which attracts thousands of participants, and even tens of thousands at certain times of the year. Songs, music, symbols, images, banners, applause galore in Lourdes’ 6 statutory languages (French, Italian, Spanish, English, German and Dutch). An original experience.

*The international mass is celebrated every Wednesday and Sunday during the pilgrimage season (April-October).
