On the Route des Grands Cols in the Pyrenees and the Route des Lacs de Haute Montagne, the fabulous scenery flies by in the silence of its electric motor. Day 1

Arrival in the Louron Valley

You reach the Louron Valley, its lake and its balneotherapy centre, with its vast open-air thermal water lagoons. With your eyes riveted on the peaks and your lungs filled with pure air, Balnéa is a place where you can disconnect and recharge your batteries… An authentic marvel, the valley is also home to many treasures, some of them hidden, such as the Romanesque chapels, which are here in unprecedented numbers. If you have the time, we recommend you visit the chapel at Mont in particular. A footpath will take you to the chapel at Saint-Calixte (closed to the public), set in the heart of nature, in a bucolic setting with a lovely viewpoint. You will then spend the night in a superb 4-star hotel, a luxury refuge near the lake.

Day 2

From Col d’Aspin to Saint-Lary

The Road Trip aboard Brigitte begins with the ascent of the Col d’Aspin. A few minutes at the top to admire the view before descending to Lac de Payolle. Nestling in a forest of fir trees, it’s known here as the “Little Canada of the Pyrenees”. Afterwards, you’ll set off to climb the Pic du Midi. A spectacular cable car ride takes you to the summit. Take time to visit the site, stroll the terraces and admire the view of the Pyrenees. Exceptional!

It’s time to get back on the road with Brigitte. You’re only 4 kilometres from the famous Col du Tourmalet. It’s well worth making the diversions to see the panorama from the highest road pass in the Pyrenees. Then it’s time to head for Saint-Lary via Hourquette d’Ancizan. A new pass, more confidential than the first two, but with plenty of excitement in store.

Day 3

High Mountain Lakes Route

The Route des Lacs de Haute Montagne is a spectacular new route for you to follow today. It winds its way between stone walls and climbs to Lac de Cap-de-Long (2,161 m), Lac d’Orédon (1,849 m), Lac d’Aumar (2,198 m) and Lac d’Aubert (2,150 m). This is the highest lakes route in the Pyrenees, taking you to one of the most beautiful lakeside landscapes in the massif: the Néouvielle National Nature Reserve, with its countless lakes.

Leave Brigitte behind temporarily and take your time to wander through this exotic countryside, with its Mediterranean coves, which you won’t find anywhere else in the Pyrenees. In the afternoon, you’ll reach the Louron Valley via the panoramic Val Louron-Azet pass.

Brigitte, an exceptional car

Hand-built in a factory near Toulouse, Brigitte is a modern reproduction of the Formula 1s of the 1930s in an easy-to-drive version.

The Devinci brand has opted for the finest materials for its production: aluminium sheet metal bodywork, running boards, pedals and radiator grille machined from a single block of aluminium, wooden floor, leather upholstery, corked aluminium dashboard… Only a few hundred examples leave the production plant each year. The Mercure Peyragudes Loudenvielle hotel has bought one and is making it available to its guests.
