Exploring the high lakes route
You take the highest lakes route in the Pyrenees, which leads to the Cap-de-Long, Orédon, Aumar and Aubert lakes. The winding route is already a sight to behold. At the terminus: the Néouvielle National Nature Reserve. Its 70 lakes, in shades of green and turquoise blue, give it the appearance of an archipelago in the heart of the Pyrenees. The Orédon refuge on the edge of the lake provides a pleasant setting for a break in the sunshine.
On your return, enjoy 2 hours in the pools, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi at Sensoria Rio.
You return to your hotel where dinner is served.
Crossing the Franco-Spanish border
After breakfast, leave your hotel and head for Aragon, the Spanish side of the Pyrenees.
Once you’ve passed the Aragnouet-Bielsa tunnel, don’t hesitate to use the many parking areas along the way to take a dip in the natural pools formed by the river. And don’t forget to make a diversion to discover the Añisclo Canyon, a veritable lookout point over the Mont Perdu massif, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
At the end of the day, before heading back to your hotel in an exceptional setting on the banks of the river Ara, take time out for an excursion to the medieval town of Ainsa. Visit the old town and the fortified square. You’ll find plenty of good places to dine or simply enjoy a drink and some tapas.
