8 days / 7 nights

Day 1

Arrival and settling in at the mountain hostel

Arrive and settle into a cosy mountain hut or friendly dormitory before enjoying your first evening with friends.

The café-restaurant has a friendly atmosphere. Between a few games of table football, billiards or board games, you can enjoy a platter of charcuterie and local cheese or a pizza accompanied by a traditional beer.

Day 2

Introduction to Enduro mountain biking in the Louron valley > Lac de Génos-Loudenvielle

We’re off to the Louron valley to discover the Pyrenean Eldorado of mountain biking.

There’s something for everyone here: cross-country riders, endurance riders and mountain bikers. If you’re a friend who loves to go downhill, but isn’t a fan of calf-powered uphills, you’ll opt for the enduro. Use the ski lifts or shuttles to gain altitude before setting off, with the help of an instructor, on long descents in the heart of nature. A particular favourite is the Candy: the longest green run in the Pyrenees ! It’s 13 km long and has a 1,300 metre vertical drop.

After this adrenalin-fuelled session, you can cool off in the paddles on the lake or relax in the warm, soothing springs at Balnéa.

Day 3

Canyoning in the Mont Perdu massif in Aragon > Tapas evening

Head for Aragon, the Spanish side of the Pyrenees: “los Rios”, stone villages, the sparkling Spanish sun…

Today you’ll be trying your hand at canyoning in the exceptional setting of Monte Perdido, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Jumps, swimming in crystal-clear waters, slides… Your guide will take you on an adventure through the Spanish ríos. An original experience in a breathtaking setting.

Before crossing the border again, take time out for a beer and some tapas.

Day 4

Col d’Aspin > Lac de Payolle > Suspension course and via ferrata in the Gorges

A change of scenery.

We leave the high-altitude base camp and head down into the valley. After crossing a pass, the Col d’Aspin or the Hourquette d’Ancizan, as you prefer, we linger by the Lac de Payolle.

Without too much delay, we join Stéphane and his team for an adventure course in a canyon carved out by the torrent. But no swimming today.

The course winds its way up the torrent and crosses from one bank to the other using monkey bridges, Nepalese bridges, zip lines and swings before the final ascent of a beautiful via ferrata that climbs right up to the large Garet waterfall.

The last big footbridge, a monkey bridge, is vertiginous to cross before a succession of tyroliennes for a sensational climax.

Day 5

Pic du Midi and the pontoon in the sky > Col du Tourmalet > Tyrolean traverse, Nepalese bridges and via ferratas above the river

The adventure continues!

Today you’ll be taking on the Pic du Midi. A spectacular cable car ride takes you to the summit. Take time to visit the site, stroll the terraces and admire the view of the Pyrenees. Exceptional!

You’ll then cross the famous Col du Tourmalet into the Toy region, where you’ll enjoy an exceptional zip-line course, the longest in Europe, over the waters of the Gave. (Meeting point just a few minutes from Luz-Saint-Sauveur, in the direction of Gavarnie).

There are no fewer than 16 zip-lines, each 40 to 260 metres long, cascading down a 2km route, punctuated by a number of vias ferratas and Nepalese bridges for an original experience with friends.

Day 6

Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne and Lac de Gaube – Pyrenees National Park > Rafting, hot-dogging or mini-rafting down the River Gave

You’ll love discovering Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne, an emblematic site in the Pyrenees National Park, a veritable Garden of Eden.

The Puntas gondola lift and the Gaube chairlift make for an effortless visit. You can have lunch next to the Pont d’Espagne waterfalls or on the banks of the splendid Lac de Gaube, at the foot of the Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees. The more adventurous can even go for a swim!

In the afternoon, you’ll head to the Plaine d’Argelès-Gazost for a rafting trip down the white waters of the Gave.

Day 7

Gavarnie and the Unesco-listed Grands Cirques > Night hike and wood-fired barbecue in a mountain hut

Today, you’ll discover some intense and spectacular scenery: Gavarnie, Troumouse and Estaubé, the great cirques of the Pyrenees listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

More than just geological curiosities, their semi-circular walls create grandiose, extraordinary landscapes.

Time to take a selfie in front of the great waterfall before heading off for your last appointment.

To round off this week with your mates, we suggest a short accompanied hike at dusk to watch the sun set before sharing an evening of wood-fired grills in a mountain hut.
