    Day 1

    Hiking itinerary of your choice

Welcome and transfer to Luz-Saint-Sauveur to drop off your belongings. Then on to Barèges, from where you set off on foot to the “Plateau de Lumière”. The walk begins in a beautiful forest, then leads to some very pretty meadows dotted with barns and worked in the traditional way. In the gentle atmosphere of yesteryear, the view opens out onto the pretty granite massif of Ardiden and dominates the slate-roofed villages on the valley floor.

Return to Luz. This route can be replaced by a hike offering the same atmosphere, on the Montagne Fleurie and the Midaou barns.
    Walking time: 4 hours. Difference in altitude: + 450 m / – 450 m. Transfer time: 1h

    Day 2

    Hiking and balneotherapy

Hiking in the heart of the Dets Coubous granite and lake cirque, dotted with hooked pines, with a magnificent loop passing Lac Nere. In this harmonious setting dominated by pretty little peaks, the walk takes on an enchanting air.
    Walking time: 5 to 6 hours. Difference in altitude: + 750 m / – 750 m. Transfer time: 30 min

In the late afternoon, take your first break at Luzéa, the balneotherapy centre, to enjoy the invigorating waters, the relaxation pool with underwater massage jets, neck showers, suspended jacuzzi, sauna and oriental hammam…

    Day 3

    Through the National Park

Transfer, then hike in the Cirque de Troumouse, in the heart of the National Park, to meet marmots and perhaps isards. Starting at Héas, the route climbs to the foot of the Munia, a magnificent 3000m peak, and passes the Aires lakes before looping back to the starting point. In the middle of the pastures of the cirque de Troumouse, the ridges form a gigantic crown that towers several hundred metres above you.
    Walking time: 5 hours. Difference in altitude: + 600 m / – 600 m. Transfer time: 1 hour

At the end of the afternoon, take a relaxing break at Luzéa.

    Day 4

Hike to the foot of the Pic du Midi and enjoy a spa bath

Hiking in the Lac d’Oncet and Col de Sencours region, at the foot of the famous Pic du Midi. The astronomical observatory sits proudly on the pyramid formed by the peak, overlooking the mountain pastures you’ll be walking through. A place steeped in history, fascinating to explore, where the marks of time are clearly visible.
    Walking time: 4 hours. Difference in altitude: + 450 m / – 450 m. Transfer time: 1 hour.

At the end of the afternoon, a relaxing break at Luzéa.

    Day 5

Hiking in the heart of the high peaks and swimming in the hot springs

Hike from lake to lake in the magnificent La Glère basin, at the foot of the Néouvielle and Turon mountains. These proud 3000m peaks dominate this lakeside world in a truly high-mountain atmosphere.
    Walking time: 5 hrs. Difference in altitude: + 800 m / – 800 m. Transfer time: 30 min.

At the end of the afternoon, a relaxing break at Luzéa.

    Day 6

Hike to the famous Cirque de Gavarnie

Transfer and hike to the heart of the not-to-be-missed Cirque de Gavarnie, one of the most spectacular landscapes to be seen in France, made up of immense tiers of rock between which the eternal snows cling and from which a profusion of waterfalls cascade over the vertiginous cliffs of the cirque. You’ll approach it along some magnificent and original paths, allowing you to admire it at its most beautiful.
    Walking time: 4 hours. Difference in altitude: + 500 m / – 500 m. Transfer time: 1h20

Then, on this final evening, you’ll take the car back to the “Chez Louisette” inn, nestling at an altitude of 1600 m in the heart of the Lienz forest, for a delicious evening of conviviality and local cuisine.

    Day 7

      3-star hotel in Luz

Next to the traditional village of Luz-Saint-Sauveur and on the route to the Grands Sites such as the Cirque de Gavarnie and the Col du Tourmalet, this hotel invites you to travel back in time with its 19th-century town house architecture.

Its terrace overlooks the Gave and opens onto the mountains and the slate roofs of the houses below.

From the restaurant, wide windows open out to take in the view of the mountains and the torrent. The dovecote, balusters, ambience and decor of the restaurant and lounge are all reminiscent of the Belle Epoque.
