A programme of easy hikes to discover the majestic landscapes of the Pyrenees National Park, just outside Cauterets. The Pont d’Espagne waterfalls, Gaube lake, the torrents of the Lutour and Marcadau valleys… as well as the breathtaking Cirque de Gavarnie, a multitude of landscapes to be savoured without moderation.
After the hike, you can enjoy the benefits of the thermal waters at the spa centre, with its exceptional architecture and relaxing atmosphere.
Your stay will end with a dinner of local flavours in an authentic inn overlooking the Cauterets valley.
Welcome in Lourdes and transfer to Cauterets to drop off your bags. You will then make your way to the Pont de Benqués for a return trip to the Lutour valley. The hike begins at the Lutour waterfall, a marvellous and elusive spectacle of the waters of the Gave, which you will climb up through pine forests and lush green lawns. It’s not unusual to see isards and marmots frolicking in this exceptional setting.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Walk along the waterfalls at Cauterets Pont d'Espagne
Back at the Pont de Benqués, we change valleys for a great warm-up along the Gave du Jéret, where there are countless waterfalls. The bubbling spectacle of the water that has been shaping these rocks for hundreds of years is more breathtaking with each step. A colourful hike in the shade of the Péguère wood.

Transfer to the neighbouring valley to discover the sumptuous Cirque de Gavarnie. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this monumental site in the Pyrenees is surrounded by a number of major peaks topping 3,000 metres. And let’s not forget the great waterfall, under which the Eiffel Tower would easily fit, giving this natural theatre an enchanting dimension.

Family outing to Lac de Gaube

Hike through the pine forests along a beautiful path leading to the legendary Lac de Gaube. Continuing along this valley, the panorama gradually unfolds to reveal the lord of the manor, the Vignemale. Its imposing north face is easy to contemplate and awe-inspiring for climbers setting out to conquer the vertiginous Gaube couloir.

From Pont d’Espagne, stroll through the Marcadau valley and its marvellous river bordered by beautiful grassy banks dotted with flowers. You’ll head upstream to the Refuge Wallon before a gentle descent.
Your last evening will be spent enjoying a dinner of local Cauterésian flavours in a warm and authentic inn that has been combining farm work and traditional cooking with their products since 1928.
