On the programme for your stay

8 days / 7 nights

A week exploring the incredible sites of the Hautes-Pyrénées. Pic du Midi, Cauterets, Gavarnie, Lourdes: breathtaking scenery and new experiences are just waiting for you…
You can also relax in the warm, soothing waters of the Les Bains du Rocher spa centre!

Day 1

Arrival in Cauterets

You arrive in Cauterets and settle into your residence.

You will discover this pretty village with its Belle Époque architecture, the gateway to the Pyrenees National Park. There’s no shortage of entertainment and activities!

Day 2

Exploring Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne

A lovely day out exploring the Pont d’Espagne.
You’ll enjoy discovering Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne, an emblematic site in the Pyrenees National Park, a veritable Garden of Eden. First you take the gondola lift, then the chairlift. A ten-minute walk then takes you to Lac de Gaube. Here you can catch a glimpse of the Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees!

Day 3

Walks along the lakes and balneotherapy

Cauterets offers a wide range of walks within easy reach.
Starting out from the village, you can take one of the many paths lined with green forests and punctuated by torrents, waterfalls and lakes. All you have to do is choose, and you’ll be happily on your way in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park.

The day ends gently in the warm, soothing waters of the Bains du Rocher. Relax in the indoor baths, outdoor lagoon, jacuzzi and hammam.

Day 4

Guided hikes in exceptional landscapes

Today you meet your mountain leader for a day’s hiking.
Thanks to your mountain leader, you’ll be able to get off the beaten track, discover fabulous viewpoints, spot a rare plant you might otherwise have missed, catch a glimpse of an animal perched high up in the distance and perhaps even spot marmots, isards or the majestic flight of a few birds of prey.
He’ll share his knowledge of the flora and fauna to help you discover the mountains in a different way.
Follow the guide and enjoy the scenery!

Day 5

Walk from the waterfalls to the Pont d’Espagne

Today we suggest you discover the tumultuous waterfalls for which Cauterets is famous!
Admiring the Cerisey and Lutour waterfalls won’t require you to spend hours walking. They’re just a short walk from the road leading to the Pont d’Espagne, and well worth a stop. However, you can also opt for a short hike along the waterfalls path starting from La Raillère.
The Cascades trail is a magnificent walk along the water. Stroll along and discover more than a dozen waterfalls along the way, where you can watch a continuous firework display of spray. Finally, you’ll discover one of the most impressive: the Pont d’Espagne waterfall!

Day 6

Ascent to the Pic du Midi and breathtaking views

It’s time for a breathtaking journey!
You’ll board the cable car that will take you to the summit of the Pic du Midi, at an altitude of over 2800 m!
Up there, you can enjoy the terraces that offer incredible views of the whole Pyrenees range! Don’t hesitate to take a walk on the Pontoon in the sky: thrills guaranteed!
We recommend you arrive at the Pic du Midi in the morning for lunch.

Day 7

A free walk around one of our Grands Sites

This last day is free.
Cauterets, Gavarnie, Lourdes… the Grands Sites within your reach… you’re spoilt for choice!

The world-famous town of Lourdes is just a few kilometres away.
You’re free to visit the Sanctuary, on the banks of the river, an architectural complex that is unique in France. Aside from the Sanctuary, you can also enjoy the lake and its water sports, discover the castle perched on its rocky peak and climb the Pic du Jer on the funicular.

The colossal Cirque de Gavarnie, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also just a stone’s throw away.
Gavarnie is the world’s most famous natural arena, one of nature’s most grandiose offerings. Enchanting landscapes and breathtaking panoramas!

Day 8

The Pic du Midi cable car: simple, easy access to the highest peaks!

The Pic du Midi cable car takes passengers on a spectacular journey to the summit, at an altitude of 2,877 metres, where the 1,000 m² of terraces offer a 360° view of the Pyrenees, the great plains of the South West and the foothills of the Massif Central. The view is unique and the panorama exceptional.
