Arrival day

You arrive at your hotel in Luz-Saint-Sauveur, a pleasant base camp surrounded by the most famous sites in the Hautes-Pyrénées that you are about to discover.
Settle in for dinner and the night.

Day 1

Hike to the Cirque de Troumouse

After breakfast, you’ll set off on a hike around the majestic and intimate Cirque de Troumouse, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The circumference of this extraordinary cirque is impressive; you hike through the centre of this immense grassy arena, dominated by peaks topping 3,000 metres.

At the end of the day, you return to your hotel for dinner and the night.

Day 2

Heading for the Néouvielle Nature Reserve

After breakfast, you’ll meet up with your guide again for a hike in the Néouvielle sector, a National Nature Reserve with azure lakes. You’ll discover a unique massif marked by purity: the purity of the water, with its countless lakes and torrents to marvel at; the purity of the air and sky, which give it a special climate; and the purity of the harmonious lines of its granite landscapes. You’re guaranteed to fall in love with its jewels: the Aubert and Aumarlakes, the laquettes and the Estibère valley… !

At the end of the day, you return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Head for the heart of the Gavarnie cirque

After breakfast, you’ll set off for another day’s guided hike to the heart of the Gavarnie cirque, a majestic UNESCO World Heritage site. You will discover the wonders of this glacial cirque of impressive dimensions, surrounded by vertiginous peaks culminating at over 3000m.

At the end of the day, you return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Day’s hiking in Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne

Today is your last day of hiking in the Cauterets-Pont d’Espagne area, a jewel of greenery.
Right in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, in a listed and protected environment, the Pont d’Espagne opens the way to the green valleys of the Cayan and Marcadau, criss-crossed by streams, and towards the Lac de Gaube where the Vignemale massif towers above.
At the end of the day, you return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5

Ascent to the Pic du Midi and magnificent views

After breakfast, take the Col du Tourmalet, a Tour de France classic, to La Mongie. There, you take the cable car up to the summit of the Pic du Midi.
From the panoramic terraces, you can admire the mountain range at your leisure. At an altitude of almost 3,000 m, the view is exceptional.
Take advantage of the site’s latest facilities (planetarium, new interpretation area, pontoon in the sky, etc.) to enjoy some unique experiences.

The Pic du Midi

and its cable car

Access from La Mongie station by cable car – Option to eat on site at the summit. The Pic du Midi offers daytime visits, stargazing evenings and overnight stays at the summit. Mountain biking is also available from the summit in summer.

The Pic du Midi cable car: simple, easy access to the highest peaks!

The Pic du Midi cable car takes passengers on a spectacular journey to the summit, at an altitude of 2,877 metres, where the 1,000 m² of terraces offer a 360° view of the Pyrenees, the great plains of the South West and the foothills of the Massif Central. The view is unique and the panorama exceptional.

But the Pic du Midi also boasts a valuable observatory for scientists, and thehighest museum in Europe, which passionately recounts the human epic of the construction of this exceptional site.
