The breweries

Beer from the Hautes-Pyrénées

Beers from the Hautes-Pyrénées are all about know-how brewed in the mountains. Here, the brewers don’t do things by halves: local ingredients, boundless passion and just the right amount of creative madness. Light pale ale for summer evenings, full-bodied amber to accompany a good cheese, or rich stout like a sunset over the peaks, there’s something for everyone. It’s a taste of the land, to be savoured with a glass in hand, with friends or on your own, contemplating the mountains.

Situated in the heart of the great sites of the Hautes-Pyrénées, the Brasserie du Pays des Gaves invites you to discover Bigourd’Ale, a range of traditional beers with original and authentic flavours. Blonde, amber and white beers, as well as seasonal specials (Christmas, spring, etc.).

La Nestoise

Unpasteurised and unfiltered home-made beers. La Nestoise comes in six varieties: blonde, hopped, amber, brown, triple and white. The difference in taste lies in the specificity of the malts, which are more or less coloured, and in the aromas.

L'Amalthée

Pierre Lebbe opened the brewery in 2000 and produces around 10,000 bottles a year of Amalthée, an organic lager. The name is a reference both to the product and to Zeus’ nanny goat, one of whose horns became a cornucopia…

A beer that he sells in the United States, notably in San Francisco, but also throughout the biocoop network…

L'Aoucataise

Aoucataise is a craft beer from the Hautes-Pyrénées. Its name comes from the water used to make it, which comes from the small village of Armenteule, where the main activity was herding geese known as the “Aoucatès”.

There is a choice of amber, brown, blonde, white and honey beers. Not to mention limited edition seasonal beers!
