Whether you’re a novice or an experienced climber, every move brings you closer to the summit, between precision and adrenalin. evolution

A constantly evolving challenge

As soon as winter’s bitter cold sets in, the water trickling down the walls freezes into crystalline sculptures. Season after season, these cathedrals of ice are born, transformed and constantly fashion new lines of ascent before fading away. The magic of this sport lies in this impermanence: an ephemeral terrain where climbers trace their path, between mastery and power.

Gavarnie

The Mecca of ice climbing

The Gavarnie cirque, a jewel in the crown of ice climbing, is one of Europe’s most prestigious spots. Every winter, its imposing walls freeze into sparkling waterfalls, revealing routes that are as majestic as they are dizzying.

The “Cascade du Cirque“, emblematic of this UNESCO-listed site, represents a major challenge for climbers in search of excellence.

The Pic du Midi

A unique setting facing the summits

Beneath the terraces of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre, the ice sculpts ephemeral structures, ready to challenge the climbers.

Here, climbing is synonymous with contemplation: the panorama of the Pyrenean peaks is breathtaking .

Troumouse

A wild and unspoilt alternative

Just a few kilometres from Gavarnie, the Troumouse cirque reveals more confidential waterfalls, ideal for those seeking an isolated setting, far from the crowds.

Here, each winter transforms the landscape, sculpting new lines of ascent.

The Bielsa tunnel

A popular spot on the Spanish border

Nestling on the French-Spanish border, the Bielsa Tunnel region near Aragnouet is a haven for ice-climbing enthusiasts. On the northern outskirts of the tunnel, legendary waterfalls such as “Le Grand Panneau” (or “Dorada”) offer routes to suit all abilities. Access is via a 30-minute walk up the Neste de Saux valley, around the tunnel entrance.
