On the waterfalls trail above Cauterets, the water leaps from rock to rock and pool to pool with deafening power. A walk through the undergrowth reveals the tumult of the water at every turn, a festival of spray. Suspended moments, when rainbows are reflected in the droplets of the waterfalls, inviting you to explore the Cerisey waterfall before continuing on to the emblematic site of the Pont d’Espagne. Take a stroll along the cool waterfalls. Between Cauterets and the Pont d’Espagne, on the way to the Pyrenees National Park, you can witness an incredible spectacle. Walk to the rhythm of the lapping water and the eddies, easily and quietly.

At the bend in the stream, the waterfalls path begins and winds through the undergrowth. Here, the natural elements do not have the same standards as elsewhere, thanks to the Pyrenees National Park. Nature is pampered; this is its kingdom. The trees are giant, the ferns are in their element and the waterfalls are tumultuous. In fact, they made Cauterets famous a long time ago.

You’re in the Val de Jéret, a great hiking classic that leads all the way to the Pont d’Espagne. In the forest, the birds whistle a happy tune, and children play from rock to rock – a great family walk to enjoy the cool summer air.

This pleasant walk follows the Gave down from the Pont d’Espagne, from glugglou to clapotis.

As you follow the geography, you’ll discover waterfalls, some with soft, clear waters, others with bubbling, tumultuous waters such as the Cerisey waterfall. Let the sound of the water be your guide. The path allows you to get up close and personal to witness this continuous firework display of spray.
