Day 1

Lourdes – Cauterets – Lutour Valley

Welcome in Lourdes and transfer to Cauterets to drop off your bags. You will then make your way to the Pont de Benqués for a return trip to the Lutour valley. The hike begins at the Lutour waterfall, a marvellous and elusive spectacle of the waters of the Gave, which you will climb up through pine forests and lush green lawns. It’s not unusual to see isards and marmots frolicking in this exceptional setting.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Walking time: 3 to 4 hours. Difference in altitude: + 400 m / – 400 m.

Transfer time: 1 hour.

Day 2

The waterfalls trail

Back at the Pont de Benqués, we change valleys for a great warm-up along the Gave du Jéret, where there are countless waterfalls. The bubbling spectacle of the water that has been shaping these rocks for hundreds of years is more breathtaking with each step. A colourful hike in the shade of the Péguère wood.
On the way back, we suggest you stop off at the Les Bains du Rochers spa in Cauterets, where the naturally warm thermal water sparkles with benefits and envelops you in a gentle 34°.

Transfer time: 10 min.

Day 3

The Cirque de Gavarnie

Transfer to the neighbouring valley to discover the sumptuous Cirque de Gavarnie. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this monumental Pyrenean site is surrounded by a number of major peaks topping 3,000 metres. And let’s not forget the great waterfall, under which the Eiffel Tower would easily fit, giving this natural theatre an enchanting dimension.

Transfer time: 2 hours.

Day 4

Lac de Gaube – Massif du Vignemale

Hike through the pine forests along a beautiful path leading to the legendary Lac de Gaube. Continuing along this valley, the panorama gradually unfolds to reveal the lord of the manor, the Vignemale. Its imposing north face is easy to contemplate and admired by mountaineers who set out to conquer the vertiginous Gaube couloir.

Walking time: 4 hours. Difference in altitude: + 450 m / – 450 m.

Transfer time: 30 min.

Day 5

Marcadau Valley – Pont d’Espagne

From Pont d’Espagne, stroll through the Marcadau valley and its marvellous river bordered by beautiful grassy banks dotted with flowers. You’ll head upstream to the Refuge Wallon before a gentle descent.
Your last evening will be spent enjoying a dinner of local Cauterésian flavours in a warm and authentic inn that has been combining farm work and traditional cooking with their products since 1928.

Transfer time: 30 min.

Day 6

End of your stay

Transfer and departure after breakfast.
