Mountain biking in the Louron valley

The mountain bike spot in the Pyrenees

In the heart of the valley, the MTB Trail Louron links the resorts of Peyragudes and Val Louron, on either side of Lake Loudenvielle. Designed to cater for all disciplines, it offers routes suitable forenduro, cross-country and downhill, with varying levels of difficulty so that everyone can find their own trail, from beginners to performance riders. The network is structured around ski lifts and a shuttle service equipped with trailers, ensuring effortless access to all the sectors. For an even greater mountain biking experience, the site hosts the Pyrénées Bike Festival, a flagship event with a host of activities designed to make mountain biking accessible to as many people as possible.

Cross-Country

Life-size

The Louron Valley is home to a host of mountain biking disciplines. This dedicated area, developed in 2018, has 11 itineraries (1 green, 3 blue, 5 red and 2 black) covering 197 km of trails between the mountain pasture paths and the woodland tracks.

An XCO mountain bike stadium

Val Louron has an XCO mountain bike stadium where you can learn or improve your cross-country skills. Four loops (1 green, 1 blue, 1 red, 1 black) cater for riders of all levels.

The different loops are punctuated by jumps, scree, crossings, slaloms and even a footbridge suspended between trees. For those who want to play the timekeeper, you can hire a chip to measure your time on the course.

The race for panoramic views

There’s no shortage of trails around Loudenvielle and its lake, with no fewer than 27 tracks totalling 211km. There are 4 green, 11 blue, 7 red and 5 black enduro trails for everyone to enjoy.

For easy access to the slopes, the Skyvall gondola and Privilège chairlift take mountain bikers effortlessly to the top of Peyragudes resort, at 2245 m altitude. Shuttle buses equipped with mountain bike trailers serve the other areas of the valley.

In the Louron, each trail offers a unique backdrop: ridges dominating the Aure valley, hilltop villages rich in heritage, trails bordering lakes… Every bend opens up a new panorama.

The longest green Enduro trail

A first in the Pyrenees

Coupled with the Skyvall, the Le Privilège chairlift provides effortless access to the top of Peyragudes resort and a wide range of itineraries. This year, the Louron Valley is creating a 13km green mountain bike trail that runs from the top of Peyragudes resort at 2,246 metres to Loudenvielle at 975 metres.

This fun ‘FlowTrail‘ is the longest ever built in the Pyrenees. It is entirely dedicated to beginners and families.
